Trio Mokili is an African styles combo playing roots and jazz-inflected renditions of music from all over the great continent: Ethiojazz, Nigerian Afrobeat, Zimbabwean mbira music, Palm Wine, desert blues, and more. Guitarist Nathaniel Braddock leads the group. Braddock is recently relocated to Sydney after serving ten years on faculty at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music and leading the internationally touring Occidental Brothers Dance Band Int'l. He has collaborated extensively with musicians from Mali, Ghana, and Congo. Braddock is joined by Sydney stalwarts Alon Ilsar (drums) and Nick McClean (upright bass).
