The Alex Theatre St Kilda is a unique, multi-purpose arts venue. Offering three different sized spaces, Hirers and producers are able to present a wide range of works in an accessible, comfortable venue that is also commercially viable.
Following an extensive and stylish refurbishment, ‘the Alex’ opened its doors in February 2015. It warmly welcomes interaction with a diverse range of commercial and non-commercial hirers including independent artists, established and emerging producers as well as festival events. In addition to hosting full-fledged productions, it’s an ideal venue for auditions, rehearsals, workshops and/or showings of work in creative development. The Alex is also available for private or corporate bookings.

Many different events can be presented at the Alex, including music theatre, stand-up comedy, dance, drama, jazz, cabaret, opera, films, corporate presentations & festivals. Importantly, patrons can enjoy comfortable seating in each theatre with generous legroom and excellent sightlines.

Situated in a prime location, the three performance spaces at the Alex are offered at very competitive rates. This helps keep ticket prices lower for patrons & the boutique foyer bar is also keenly priced.
