Astronafrica is a Brazilian-born, Sydney-based DJ and cultural curator whose sets fuse house, jazz, moody dub, and psychedelic undertones with a deep-rooted passion for percussion and diasporic rhythms. His sound is a global tapestry—soulful, rhythmic, and always evolving.
Living in Sydney for over two decades, Astronafrica began his musical journey in 2007 on Eastside Radio 89.7FM, hosting a weekly show that ran for 11 years and featured music from Brazil alongside interviews with local and international artists.
As a DJ, he co-founded Afrobrasiliana Soundsystem and Mixagi Collective, and has performed at some of the city's most vital parties, including Planet Trip, Discoteca Tropical, and as a resident at Caterpillar Club.
Astronafrica has shared the stage with artists such as Omoloko, Byron The Aquarius, Antal, DJ Nigga Fox, ESA Williams, Nicola Cruz, Chancha Via Circuito, Azymuth, and Marcos Valle—testament to his versatility and dedication to boundary-pushing sounds.
