Since moving to New Orleans, drummer Benny Amón has won the respect of the top Jazz musicians in the city. He performs regularly at the Palm Court Jazz Café, Preservation Hall, Snug Harbor, and aboard the Steamboat Natchez. Benny has performed at festivals around the world including The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, French Quarter Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, and most recently, the I Love Jazz Festival in Belo Holorizonte, Brazil
Benny is one of the leaders of the Riverside Jazz Collective, a collaborative effort of many of the best musicians performing traditional jazz in the city of New Orleans today.
Additionally, Benny is a regular member of the Steve Pistorius Quartet, Southern Syncopators, The Palm Court Band, Greg Stafford’s Jazz Hounds, Orange Kellin’s Deluxe Orchestra, the Tom Cats, Duke Heitger’s Steamboat Stompers, The Messy Cookers Jazz Band, and Dr. Michael White’s Original Liberty Jazz Band.
