From the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia comes Borderland State.
Initially inspired by ambient and cinematic music, Borderland State now finds himself gravitating towards a more beat-driven style. Together with his ambient beginnings he creates his unique and engaging spin on electronic music. With an emphasis on the journey and an obsession with detail, Borderland State is music for the dance floor, as much as it is for headphones on your bedroom floor.
Borderland State initially made a splash after winning the 2018 Triple J Unearthed remix competition with his remix of DMA’s tune, The End. Following this he released his debut single, Collider, on Kim Moye’s (The Presets) label, Here To Hell. This debut track enjoyed Triple J radio play and praise from tastemakers at Pilerats. Following a string of support shows (Crooked Colours, The Kite String Tangle, Cassian) in early 2019, Borderland State draws us into a hazy, blissed out dreamscape with his new single Say It. Released via The Kite
String Tangle’s label, Exist Recordings as part of their Exist. Exclusives VOL001 compilation, Say It has garnered support from Pilerats, Spotify, Apple Music, Triple J Unearthed and Triple J’s Home and Hosed program.
