Carmen LaRen, a native of Philadelphia, is a singer, songwriter, vocal arranger and recording artist. Carmen’s love of performing began at a young age and continues to be one of the foremost ways she expresses her artistry. As a bandleader and vocalist with EBE Talent, Carmen performs every week for different live events with an 11-piece band. She also takes on being the Emcee and event facilitator in her role as a bandleader for the company. The performances don’t stop there. Carmen’s love of performing has taken her not only coast to coast but from neighborhood venues to TV and movies. One of her most recent Google-able performances is her appearance on NPR’s Tiny Desk as she performed with UK artist Sam Smith.
As part of an RnB trio, Carmen was able to write on the group’s EP, Found Me, released in 2024. As a writer, Carmen has expanded her reach to write for other artists as well as herself. Some of her most notable accomplishments include writing on J. Brown’s single, “My Whole Heart,” which reached #1 on Billboard’s Urban Airplay Chart in 2023. Carmen also co-wrote on “Lonely As A Cloud,” a song featured in Hallmark Mahogany’s first ever movie to air on the Hallmark Channel, “Naima In Nashville” in 2023.
Whether on big screens, little ones, in intimate settings or large arenas, Carmen believes in this simple mantra: Sing with your heart. Write with your soul. Perform with your all.
