In 2005 the emo and pop punk realm was blessed with two genre defining albums in the form of Panic! At The Disco’s A Fever You Can’t Sweat and Fall Out Boy’s From Under The Cork Tree. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of these groundbreaking releases, Catastrophe Gigs presents both records performed live in full at Mary’s Underground.
Ruffians are taking on Panic’s debut masterpiece, from the electronica infused pop punk, to the baroque emo anthems, equipped with a horn section and the most Brendon Urie-sounding vocalist you will ever hear. If any band can do A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out justice, it’s this talented bunch from Newcastle, whose own music has taken a heavy dose of inspiration from P!ATD.
Radioactive Man will deliver Fall Out Boy’s sophomore album with the passion and dedication that it deserves, bringing the old FOB live show energy and nailing all the parts on this phenomenal album. Featuring the massive hits like Sugar We’re Going Down, A Little Less Sixteen Candles and Dance Dance, along with heaps of fan favourites, the 2005 release is stacked with iconic emo tunes from start to finish.
Both cover bands have 60 minute slots and will close out their sets with extra Panic and Fall Out Boy hits after playing each album.
Lightyears are opening the show with their own pop punk originals.
