Think Jazz, and it’s hard for any musician not to acknowledge the genius and restless creativity of Miles Davis. And it’s no different for saxophonist Carson Freeman, as it was Davis who employed and empowered many of the greats that inspired Carson, who started on the sax in high school in the small town of Espanola. Practicing for several hours daily and learning from the solos of veteran session man Michael Brecker, Carson continued educating himself until he formed his first jazz band with his bassist twin brother. Since then, and in the decade since joining BELLOSOUND, Carson has performed his brand of nuanced and expressive blues-edged soul in New York, L.A., Miami Beach, London, and his favourite city, Toronto.
