Cassis is a collective of heavily drenched fun synthesizer riffage, Euro-club sounds, art poprock all driven by “Nico-esque”, French poetica speak-sing vocals that are honest, seductive and melancholic.
In March this year, Cassis released their second studio album “Riding on Clouds and they are currently finishing a suite of songs recorded in December 2024 which are due for release in 2025. Their music wants you to listen but also move and dance you.
Cassis was formed in 2011 by vocalist Véronique Ramén and guitarist Jon Edwards. Initially an acoustic duo with roots in French speak-sing songs, the band transitioned to electric with the addition of drummer Warren Hall, bassist Seb Davidson and Tim Newhouse on keys.
Cassis will be supported by “The Beautiful Losers” who play a unique mix of grungy ballads and quirky pop. Formed in 1987, revamped in 2014 with three studio albums behind them, they regularly feature on the Perth’s gig scene.
Also, in support will be “Birdland”, Perth’s youngest up and coming band, a trio of brothers who write and play their own songs whose indie/funk/pop vibes will energize the stage.
