In 2003 a fresh faced, 19-year-old songbird from North London released her sensational debut album. To her, it was a memento of personal revelations about love and life combined with a celebration of jazz and soul music. Amy Winehouse was and always will be a powerful force of nature, who transformed the face of music. Her utterly divine, completely unique vocal style and lyricism of a brutally honest, barb-tongued, poetic nature transcended her years.
Frank was titled as an homage to Amy’s idol Frank Sinatra and embraces her heavy jazz influence with tunes such as “October Song” and “Moody’s Mood For Love” alongside a fusion of soul and hip-hop with “Stronger Than Me” and “In My Bed”. Using her organic phrasing, impeccable improvisation and raw contralto tone, Amy created the one of the most ground-breaking pieces of musical artwork that went on to sell over a million copies, win an Ivor Novello Award and receive a triple platinum certification by the British Phonographic Industry.
Francesca Quinlivan (Frankie), at 23 years of age is an up-and-coming jazz vocalist who has eagerly studied at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
