Michael Griffin is a Sydney based Saxophonist. He spends his time performing around Australia and Internationally and have performed at places such as Sydney Opera House, Entertainment Center, Town Hall, Dizzy's Coca Cola (New York, USA), Fat Cat (New York, USA), Smalls Jazz Club (New York, USA), Natural Museum of American History (Washington D.C, USA) and many other venues and Jazz Festivals. Michael has played with James Morrison, James Muller, Christian Sands (USA), Carl Allen (USA), Rodney Whittaker (USA), Reginald Thomas (USA) and many more
In recent times he has been featured on ABC, Eastside radio and Mx Newspaper, Played at Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Manly Jazz festival, Kinetic Jazz festival with his band and recently did a 2nd tour of Melbourne playing at the Paris Cat Jazz Club. He was a Semi-finalist at the 2013 Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition in Washington D.C. ( where he got to meet Jazz Legends Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Roy Hargrove, Jimmy Heath, Branford Marsalis and others)
