Great Southern Nights in association with Vic on the Park, Byron Bay Brewery, & The Music and Booze Company presents...
Dress Thèque w/ Forest Hall
Dress Thèque began with Julian Wilkinson and Michael Thurbin, two fresh outta high school Coasties that connected over all things music. They began sketching out an extensive number of demos that flowed far too easy - and with the decision to pursue a life in music outside of Terrigal Pub - a move to Sydney was the clear next step.
Having always had a strong love for Dance & Electronica, the pair met their match in Daniel Nutton, a drummer from Northern England’s Halifax with an intense love of Drum 'N' Bass. Appalled that Jules & Mikey only mentioned Oasis on the topic of Manchester music - Dandan began to show them the full Madchester catalogue. The band's obsession with The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays had begun.
They found that the harder they leant into the Madchester sound, the stronger their music and identity became. The band started going to ‘Step On’ nights to blow off steam - a club night of all things Baggy & Britpop, put on by Edinburgh DJ and ex-Hollow Bones' frontman John Wineberg. Dress Thèque were soon thereafter short a bass player and days out from a show - A call to John Lad was soon dialled. And so it was that the band became four.
Shows start at 10pm and go ‘til late, and it’s set to be busy, so book a table via our website at 9:30pm now to avoid disappointment. It’s good to be back.
