Honey Spokes is a trio newly formed by the best of friends who have come together to create a journey through song, improvisation and composition. The trio consists of Max Alduca on Double Bass, Katrina Todd on Clarinet and Vocals and Luke Sweeting on Piano Accordion. A unique sound has taken shape drawn from the multi disciplinary strengths of it members ranging from Jazz, Classical and folk music.
This is a new project from Max Alduca. Max is a Sydney based up-and-coming upright bass player known for playing in Trioflight (with Nick Southcott & Dave Goodman), Black Tulip (with Casper Tromp & Cameron Reid), Aquarela (with Aline Filipe, Matt Handel, Byron Mark, Sean Valenzuela & Andy Campbell), Antipodes [NZ] (with Jake Baxendale), and also having played with Susan Gai Dowling, Di Bird, Peter Koopman, Andrew Dickeson, Steve Hunter and others. If you follow Luke Sweeting however, you will find the a similar story - Luke plays in the Grey Wing Trio, Antipodes, Svelia and others, and has played alongside music greats like James Greening. If Max and Luke weren't enough, Katrina Todd has played in the Sydney Contemporary Orchestra. But no need to bother with all that really - these 3 are the best of friends and just enjoy making music together. Hotel Blue books any group that Max Alduca will bring along however when it's his own project - that's event better.
