Jaga Band, an Australian fresh minded multicultural ensemble – presents famous virtuosic Eastern European melodies with a focus on Carpartian melodies from Ukraine, but also include Hungarian, Jewish, Slovak and Romanian songs and dances. Our repertoire is very light and catchy providing easy listening and encourages active participation such as dancing and singing along.

As members of variety of different bands and orchestras, Jaga Band musos have been successful performers on variety major music events for years – locally and internationally. This is their successful experience gathering together to show off the great mix of Eastern European Culture. Jaga Band promotes popular Eastern European authentic instruments including the soplika/recorder, accordion, cymbalom and violin.





Lead by multi-instrumentalist and singer Mar’yana Sywak, Jaga Band have been successfully performing at variety major music events such as - Illawarra Folk Festival, Pearls of the Season Festival (Ukraine), Masletitca Festival at Darling Harbour, International Accordion Festival and Competition, Eurofest as well many Ukrainian Community and other Multicultural Events around Australia, as well maintaining busy local gigs schedule.


Junction 142:
Junction 142 is one of those spaces that is a little bit special - funds raised from hiring the hall go towards Earth Recovery Australia and help to combat homelessness and other great causes.
