Every now and then, a local artist emerges who has an undeniable, palpable and infectious momentum, and 21 year-old Josh Cashman definitely fits into that exclusive category. And what’s more exciting, on top of his music racing up the triple j Unearthed charts, is the raw energy and true showmanship Josh brings to all of his live shows.
Packing out venues wherever he goes, thanks to his fiercely loyal fanbase, the gifted self-taught musician has already also sold-out revered Melbourne venues including The Worker’s Club, Shebeen and Penny Black, as well as a residency at Ding Dong Lounge.
Initially a solo act, Josh now performs with a full band to cater for his growing audiences. The live instrumentation, coupled with sublime electronic textures and soaring vocals, certainly makes each show an unforgettable experience.
Having just returned from supporting Tash Sultana in the USA, and showcasing at SXSW in Texas, Josh is excited to launch his new single Listening with shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Listening comes out March 23.
