Kris Diggs | A Creative Expressions Paint Session | An Art Event

The class will be a 2 hour painting session where I take attendees through a step by step process of completing the selected painting for the day. Feel free to add your person flair to make the painting uniquely yours. I will have on display the finished product and create a new painting with everyone in class. The beauty of art is that there is no wrong or right way to be creative. Just let go and let the paint guide you. Throughout the class i will be walking around to assist individuals who may have questions or needs help. At the end of the class everyone will walk home with their very own painting.

Kris Diggs is a local visual artist, born and raised in the DMV, who has been painting for four years. Growing up he always loved to draw, but never took it serious. Not until he was older, did he truly discover what he wanted to do with his life. When he started painting he rediscovered the joys in art. Through painting Kris is able to convey his emotions and thoughts. It became an outlet of expression and capturing moments of time that would last a lifetime. With no formal training each painting is a learning experience, and therefor it painting is a little bit different. He continues to push his limits and boundaries of his art to become the best he can be. Vibrant colors and various subject matter are displayed in his paintings, which promote positivity, growth and love. His goal is for people to feel a distinct emotion each time they take a look at one of his paintings. Kris has showcased his works at many different venues, such as Howard theatre (the RAW Artist Showcase), Anacostia Art Center, Art All Night DC, Fighting Cancer with poetry, Curation DC, BABU: A Beautiful Day, Black Alumni Networking Expo, Unknown But Understood Art Show, which he founded himself, and many others. Kris believes in following your dreams and creating a way to turn your passions into profit. It is said that when you enjoy what you do, you never work a day in your life. Kris firmly stands by that and works to help others follow their own dreams. Working with non-profit organizations around the DMV area, such as Engage the Foundation, Kris helps kids do just that.
