Beyu is thrilled to be mixing it up a little bit this month. We will be bringing you something new — a little taste of Latin jazz flair! La Fiesta Latin jazz quintet has been playing together for over 5 years, and will be bringing a bit of salsa to Beyu this month. The band — consisting of Guillo Carias on keyboards; Nelson Delgado on vocals and Congas; Gregg Gelb on saxophone; Peter Kimosh on bass; and Ramon Ortiz on drums – plays a variety of Latin Jazz, including Mambo, Salsa, Bossa Nova, Samba, Rhumba, Cha-Cha.
Guillo, Ramon and Nelson are Latin American’s who grew up performing in their native countries of the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
Gregg is from New York and has lived and worked in NC since the early 1980’s. Gregg works in many other bands such as : The Second Line Stompers, The Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra, the North Carolina Jazz Repertory Orchestra, the Second Line Stompers. Peter is from Raleigh and plays in the Beast and many other groups.
