Starting out as jam sessions between singer/guitarist Sean and drummer Luke next to a small backyard lake, they began to expand and eventually included a second guitarist and bassist. The sessions grew from that and became the punk rock band Lakesider featuring guitarist John and bassist Owen. Since their first song ‘Nervous Wreck’, they have released an album, played shows all across WA and have jumped on the Hyperfest, WAMfest and Collision festival line ups. Lakesider have supported international bands such as Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Tigers Jaw and Citizen, as well as local bands Curbside Drive, Homebrand and Pot Plant House Party. Lakesider have also made a move to join the Heaps Cool Music family and now work hard with the team there to get their live set perfected and book in shows.

Lakesider have taken a bit of time between the release of their debut album ‘Double Vision’ in 2016 to now. Behind the scenes they have 5 new songs ready for the world. This launch is to celebrate the release of Illicit. if you've ever found yourself into a rut that feels unhealthy, there's so much support waiting for you. It takes a lot of courage to take the first step. But that first step could be the one that turns your life around for good.

Illicit is about the internal struggles from consumption, to relapse, to recovery. It's not an easy journey, but we respect every single person who walks it.
