Sydney Based 5 Piece Lilas have been slowly gathering momentum as they prepare to release their debut full length Album.

Their music can be described as understated, yet heartfelt indie rock, drawing from the worlds of The National, The War on Drugs, Bon Iver, and Sigur Ros.

They are first and foremost a studio band, developing calculated and dense musical palettes through a creative and free approach to the compositional and recording process. Their sound is often characterised by interlocking guitar work, warm synths, and the mixture of digital and acoustic drums. This is all underpinned by an unassuming yet direct baritone vocal, infusing poetic and intuitive melodies and lyricism.

Their first Single ‘Still’, recorded in many varying studios, bedrooms, construction sites, and wardrobes throughout Sydney, is a distillation of a lot of these efforts. Featuring cascading melodic motifs, glitchy drums, and dreamy lush production, the song talks of an evening with a friend, and how that night was emblematic of a greater state of mind.

Lilas will be performing with their full band, as well as a few other talented friends who made the album possible!

They’ll also be supported on the night by the phenomenal Sydney Psych-Pop-Rock group Sampson.
