State of Play - a community-focused evening of discussion and music.

LISTEN launches their new database for artists, musicians, DJs & beat makers, alongside a panel discussion on #MeToo and our local music industry at Corner Hotel on June 9.

LISTEN Lists: Artists, musicians, DJs & beat makers is a live database for women, non binary, trans, and gender non conforming people who make music - whether that be working as a session musician, DJing, playing in a band, playing as a solo artist, or anything else. LISTEN encourages everyone to add themselves. No act is too big or small. Add your work to the new list here:

This list joins the live database for audio and sound engineers hosted on LISTEN’s website: www.listenlistenlisten.org. The audio and sound engineers database was launched earlier in the year, bringing together almost 200 audio and sound engineers who are women or gender non conforming people. LISTEN Lists aims to subvert the “go to” culture that continues to allow men to dominate key areas of the music industry.

There will be an early panel discussion on the state of working in and consuming music in a community that is beginning to attune to the endemic nature of sexual harassment and assault in the music industry. Then, artists and DJs that on that feature on LISTEN’s new database will play to us all well into the night.

All panelists and acts will be announced next week
$1 from each drink sold in the bandroom will also be added to the donation pool.
