Groove….Roots…..Blues… Folk… Country…. Soul…. Good Vibe…..
……..A true interpreter of songs….

Smooth, soulful vocals, stylish guitar playing & laidback humour are the trademarks of Mark Shelley’s performance. His eclectic mix of tunes is compiled from a lifetime catalogue of performing & listening. Influenced by Roots, Blues, Folk, Groove, Country, Rock & Jazz…….all delivered with a cool acoustic vibe.

The songs, like Mark, are often ‘Classics’…….yep, I’ve been around for a while, & that is a grand thing! Mark Shelley, an Australian Singer, Musician, and songwriter, first picked up a guitar at age 13. To be honest, it was a dreadful old instrument with action as high as the sky. But this didn’t deter him as all he ever wanted to do was play music. And that is what he has been doing now for a lifetime, touring Australia & parts of the world, headlining at Festivals, featuring on Cruise Ships, TV, radio jingles, & extensive venue & corporate performances.

Mark’s songs & stories draw from that life experience. There is no teacher-like time, making him equally at home in an intimate performance setting or on the large stage, creating an ‘old friends’ vibe on any occasion. Mark says - “at my shows, I aim to provide respite from the normal flows of life…… where my audience is transported to another time, perhaps feel what they haven’t for a while, shed a tear, laugh from the belly……a time for us to meet new friends. Great songs can do that & I don’t mind who wrote them. These days it can sometimes be portrayed as being a bit ‘uncool’ to play other people’s songs….but a great song is a great one! And certain songs mark significant points in our lives…love, laughter, loss, protest, sadness, joy……& to me, that is very cool! I also love writing, so when it suits our ‘conversation’, I also share a couple of those.”
