Martin Foote is a gifted guitarist from the Blue Mountains of NSW who plays with a passion and flair that turns heads whenever he takes the stage. Martin also writes strong, melodic instrumentals. Martin grew up in a musical family and began playing guitar at the age of ten, learning from his singer-songwriter father Nigel who gave him a strong foundation in fingerpicking styles. At seventeen Martin met guitarists Joe Robinson and Michael Fix at The Clarendon as they passed through the mountains on tour - captivated by the performances of these wonderful players, Martin discovered they were both strongly influenced by Tommy Emmanuel, the legendary guitarist who has inspired so many. Martin immediately began studying every Tommy Emmanuel DVD, CD, book and video clip he could get his hands on. He also sought out and attended a Tommy Emmanuel workshop and two residential guitar camps which culminated in a duo performance of Classical Gas with the master himself.
Martin is one of the Mountains' top talents - so come along this Sunday to enjoy a solo performance with Martin in Hotel Blue's lounge. 5:00-6:00pm & bar & kitchen open - free event!
