After a decade of singing triple-sibling harmonies with The Hazelman Brothers, Mick became curious about the idea of recording a solo album and playing everything on it - vocals, guitars, drums, bass, keys and percussion.
The debut solo album ‘Putting Back Chairs’ is the result. Twelve diverse tracks span harmony-driven modern folk and country-tinged melancholia, through to complex rock leanings and chuggy tuned-down metal tones - with some tasty off-kilter time signatures thrown in for good measure.
Mick is a story-teller of old, writing about his immediate surrounds, and the lessons, fears and desires of life. He transforms everyday happenings into conversational stories, underpinned with strong melodic sensibilities and multi-layered harmonies. Putting Back Chairs is launching with a full band show, featuring Dave and Mike Kean (bass and guitar), Pip Healey (violin), and Stu and Chris Hazelman (drums and vocals).
