Mojos Songwriters Club is a gathering of storytellers and a space where music and connection take centre stage. Wednesdays at Mojos, some of WA’s best emerging and established songwriters strip it back and bare it all. It’s intimate, creative, vulnerable, and the kind of magic that only happens when great songs meet listening ears.

Whether you're a songwriter looking for inspiration, a music lover chasing something real, or just after a cozy spot with good booze, Mojos Songwriters Club is where you’ll find your people. Sink into a couch, soak up the stories, and be part of North Freo’s unbeatable music community.

Ben Wilson
'Ralway Ben' is a PhD Student at WHOPPA, currently undertaking an important research project to understand what it takes to defrost and resuscitate a band that has been cryogenically frozen for over 7 years. This phase of the project see’s him forensically analysing and reassembling hundreds of short phone recordings which almost always end with the sound of a baby crying, a toddler rambling or the urgent wail of the losing negotiator in a sibling dispute. Research so far indicates a recurring theme of ‘three chords and a truckload of bullshit’, which may be critical in understanding exactly how to restore a pulse to this sleeping beast.

Billie Rogers is as much influenced by the likes of Paul Kelly, Don Walker and Kasey Chambers as she is by Lucinda Williams, Tom Waits, Nina Simone and Gillian Welch. The dust of the red road clings to her self penned songs that take place under a clear expansive sky; but this dust is a rich red imbued with the iron ore gravel roads of Western Australia and the sky is of a uniquely antipodean sun.

Billie's music can perhaps be described as “soulful country”, but to only hear her as the product of her influences or reduce her music to a single genre is to sell this singer-songwriter short. Billie is a unique and brilliant artist forging her own path.

Maia Donash is a north Freo singer/songwriter capturing sunshiny tales of everything- from the mundane to the extraordinary parts of living. Her songwriting is an ode to feeling, the good and the bad- with a west Australian twang and bluesy roots flowing through her sets.

Sam Jane is a singer, songwriter, and multi instrumentalist. Having spent the last six years performing solo and as the front-woman in bands Sam Jane & The Flowers and Zorah, Sam is a familiar face and cherished voice in the Boorloo/ Perth music community
