Paul Dempsey is bringing his "Strange Loop" tour to NightQuarter!

One of Australia’s most respected songwriters, Paul Dempsey, is happy to announce a new round of solo shows throughout the summer months of January and February. Having released his second solo album ‘Strange Loop’ to outstanding reviews and a top 5 ARIA chart debut in May 2016, this new series of shows takes Paul out of the major cities and into regional centres for the first time playing tracks from Strange Loop as well as his gold-selling debut ‘Everything Is True’ as well as the odd well chosen cover for old times sake, up close and, yes, personal.

He will be supported by Jess Locke and Tia Gostelow.

Tia Gostelow’s arresting vocals ebb and flow from gossamer-draped lilts to velvet timbres, which resonate with nostalgic longing.
She matches her unique voice with rich instrumentals to create her distinctive style - contemporary folk intertwined with blues, and indie rock. A style which earned recognition from Triple J Unearthed, winning their Indigenous Initiative and, separately, a place in their Triple J Unearthed High Top 5 Finals, both in 2016.
One of Australia’s most promising emerging talents, Tia values the art of songwriting and creating music with integrity.

Jess Locke has spent a long time performing in unconventional spaces such as water parks, cemeteries, roundabouts, bookshops and back porches. She has released a string of lo-fi bedroom recordings that mirror the minimalistic and intimate nature of her live performances.


Co-produced by Paul and Tom Schick (Wilco, Ryan Adams) at Wilco’s The Loft Studio in Chicago, Paul Dempsey's ‘Strange Loop’ reveals a super-charged Dempsey; his voice more potent and powerful than ever, his stories and characters magnified, his instrumentation more adventurous and playful.
