Rooted in psychedelia but unbound by genre, People Taking Pictures is a boundary-pushing musical project that merges the immersive textures of alternative rock with the experimental energy of hip-hop, jazz, indie, sampling, and electronic music.

The project began in 2019 as the solo vision of multi-instrumentalist and producer Luke Parish, best known for his guitar work with Perth's riff-heavy psych-rock outfit Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. What started as a personal sonic exploration quickly evolved into a collaborative platform, drawing in a vibrant array of voices and influences from the fertile Perth music scene.

Over the course of three eclectic full-length albums, People Taking Pictures has welcomed dynamic contributions from local MCs Mali Jose, POW! Negro (also known through projects Superego and Myriad Sun), and Cruz Patterson of Koi Child, each artist adding their unique edge to the project's shape-shifting sound.

Now, with the release of the fourth album, "Dialectics", People Taking Pictures deepens its journey into genre-defying territory. The record presents a lush, expansive palette—simultaneously cerebral and emotive—continuing Parish’s commitment to musical exploration through collaboration, innovation, and fearless experimentation.
