Rachel Hannan has an effortless, startling purity of voice and simplicity of approach. Having gigged solidly throughout Sydney and up and down the East Coast for the past 30 years, she understands what her listeners want to hear with her cool, easy approach to jazz and Latin repertoires. Classically trained and hailing originally from Newcastle, then finally fleeing the Sydney CBD, Rachel has been settled in the Blue Mountains for over 20 years. Rachel performs with John Stuart on a seven-string guitar. The duo has been performing together for over twenty years, and have an easy, improvisational feel, imbued with intimacy and familiarity. John is a master of the seven-string guitar and compliments Rachel with beautiful, swinging accompaniments that suggest a larger band. Sparkling chordal solos complete this intriguing mix.
