Since forming in 1998, the Norwegian duo have stood apart—innovators with a vision, balancing the experimental and the accessible. Deep grooves pulse beneath ethereal synths, while soulful vocal features lend emotion and humanity to their precise, futuristic production. When their debut Melody A.M. arrived in 2001, it wasn’t just a record—it was a landmark. Platinum sales across Europe, international awards, and recognition as one of the defining Norwegian albums of the decade followed. From there, Röyksopp continued to move between worlds. The Understanding (2005) and Junior (2009) brought global acclaim, the latter earning a Grammy nomination. In 2014, The Inevitable End gave them their highest UK chart position. And with 2022’s Profound Mysteries trilogy, they showed once more that electronic music can be immersive, conceptual, and endlessly forward-thinking.

Part of Röyksopp’s endurance lies in their versatility. They work with an ever-evolving cast of guest vocalists while maintaining a singular identity. Their music is rooted in the Nordic environment they come from—icy, expansive, yet inviting.
