The 1920s came in "with a bang of bad booze, flappers with bare legs, jangled morals and wild weekends. The parties were bigger…the pace was faster…and the morals were looser." Well, thankfully those days have passed, but in the spirit of those 'fleeting days of folly', come along to Hotel Blue Saturdays Nights in February for some Roaring 20s jazz & cocktails. This week the wonderful 'Three-handed beat bandits' will be here with their upbeat 'New Orleans' style of jazz. The bar & kitchen is open, and this free event is open to all! 6:30-8:30pm. Part of the Roaring 20s Festival!

At the stroke of midnight January 16th, 1920, America went dry. There wasn't a place in the country (including your own home) where anyone could legally have a glass of wine with dinner without breaking the law. The 18th Amendment, also known as the Volstead Act, prohibited the manufacture, sale and possession of alcohol in America. Prohibition lasted for thirteen years.
John Stuart and Neil Duncan, a.k.a The Lonely Swingers, were one of the groups that started the live music journey with us at Hotel Blue. They are an energetic duo that manage to play the guitar, drums, sax & megaphone all at the same time...and there is a little more to that story than meets the eye. Come along and find out what they are all about! 6:30 to 8:30pm. Free event. Bar & kitchen open!
