ABOUT SARAH MCLEOD
Sarah McLeod is the creative force behind ARIA Award winning, platinum selling rockers The Superjesus. With over 20 years in the industry she has experimented with many different styles and genres.
Having released 3 studio albums with The Superjesus (Sumo, Jet Age, and Rock Music), two studio albums as a solo artist (Beauty Was A Tiger and Rocky’s Diner), and a handful of EDM tracks internationally, collaborating with DJ’s Dzeko And Torres, Hook And Sling, Whelan & Di Scala, McLeod has proven herself to be one of Australia’s most diverse artists.
McLeod’s eclectic solo performances have consistently been met with rave reviews. “I find that when I’m playing in The Superjesus, for me it’s more about playing the guitar. My solo shows are a different though, it’s stripped back and focused more on the vocal. I really love the peace in playing solo, to just enjoy the quiet and control the dynamics as I feelthem flowing through me. It’s always very impromptu, I just move with the vibe of the room.”

ABOUT MAX STEEL
Optimistic is how some would refer to Max Steel's music. Full of melancholic moments and heart strung tugging-turns, a calm sense of "it's gonna be ok" can be felt deep at the core of Max's song writing. Based in the Blue Mountains, Max was more familiar with the punk and metal underbelly of Sydney before branching out into the realms of folk, pop and Alt Country. Whilst it isn't as loud as before, the passion is still made plain, drawing influence from each and every experience and genre of his past, he strings it all together with a tidy but tattered black bow.

THE EXPERIENCE
Pigeon Lane @ Gallery One88 is a COVID-safe venue so, in the interest of public safety, social distancing requirements are upheld. At the time of this announcement, COVID-capacity restrictions mean that tickets are limited to just 26 patrons.
However, if you find that the ticket allocation for your selected event is exhausted, please place your name/s on the waitlist. This is because COVID-capacity restrictions are likely to be relaxed between now and the show, in which case additional tickets will be released for sale.
Songs & Stories is an exclusive dinner and show event, which includes a set 3-course meal with a vegetarian and non-vegetarian option, so please be sure to select your dietary preference at the time of purchasing your tickets.
Many events promise a 'speakeasy' experience, yet there is no other venue in the Blue Mountains quite like 'Pigeon Lane', Gallery ONE88's live music quarter. Why, you ask? Well, you won't find the entrance to Pigeon Lane on Katoomba's main drag; you must take a stroll down Katoomba's 'Art Street' (aka Beverly Place)... Walking past the ever-changing tapestry of street art, rated as one of the 'Top 10 Things to Do in Katoomba' according to TripAdvisor, you need to find a green door at the rear of the gallery. Don't expect a big neon sign or a grand entryway though - it helps to bring someone who has been here before and keep your eyes peeled. Once you cross the threshold, you will pass through a peculiar ticketing booth, a quirky corner bar (although the venue doesn't yet have a liquor licence - so it's BYO) and enter Pigeon Lane.
Like the eclectic underground venues of Paris, Buenos Aires, and New York City, Pigeon Lane is adorned with antique chandeliers, timber floors and exposed brick, a small stage framed with red velvet curtains, and individual tables, to accompany artwork and vintage curiosities to pique your roving interest.
The acoustics in this space are divine and the aesthetic exquisite, which is the perfect storm for bringing out evocative and profoundly passionate performances by every musician who graces its stage. Having hosted the likes of Steve Kilbey (The Church), Abby Dobson (Leonardo's Bride, Baby et Lulu), Steve Balbi (Noiseworks, Electric Hippies, Mi-Sex), Jak Housden (Tim Minchin, The Whitlams), Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridges, Lloyd Swanton (The Necks), Sandy Evans (10 Part Invention), Paul Cutlan, Gary Daley, Trish Delaney-Brown (The Idea of North), George Washingmachine, James Greening and many, many more, the quality of music is second to none.
You won't want to miss a show here as there aren't many rooms like this.
