Shannon McFadden will be the audience on an exploration of how social activism is conducted in 'low-performing' schools, and how activism can be used to promote education in the classroom and the community." She will also be discussing her blog, www.classroomactivism.blogspot.com, and showing how she uses the blog to promote activism and address the issues surrounding special education placement and the need for reform. In addition she will also be promoting King Edwards Inc (www.kingedwardsinc.org), which provides housing for children, ages 18-21, that are aging out of foster care.
Anyone who would like to donate to their mother-baby program can bring donations to the event.
