Is it a broomstick? Is it a lamppost? By God, it’s Skyscraper Stan! All ribs and fingers, Stan is one of the flood from across the ditch. After a brief run in with school and limited success with women he picked up a guitar and discovered the only thing he was really any good at was writing songs. Days before his 21st birthday he moved to Melbourne from his native Auckland and set about serenading anyone who would listen. At first that was no one. He built a band and hit the pub circuit, flogging that dead horse until Melbourne with all its volume drove him off on a musical odyssey of the Southern USA. He drifted around for a year eventually washing up in Mexico, broke (again) and hungry. Melbourne was calling and this time he was ready.

It is claimed that Stan sounds like “wet cement channeling Nick Cave” and Stan is recommended for fans of Nick Cave, Timber Timbre, Father John Misty, Old Crow Medicine Show and M. Ward. If you like the blues, americana, rock, singer-songwriters - you will find something to love about this 6ft 5inch tower!

Get off your couch this Sunday night and see some live music. 5:30-8:30pm, $15 per person.
