Shangarajive and Rumbie Tavaziva

Shangarajive is a vibrant Perth-based African music band led by Zimbabwean singer George Joe, known for their lively Afro-fusion sound blending traditional African rhythms with modern elements, featuring instruments like the mbira and percussion, singing in English and Shona about African life, culture, and joy. Formed in 2002, the band won WAM awards, supported major international acts and released albums including 'Melody'. The band is now joined by Rumbie Tavaziva, acclaimed singer-songwriter from Zimbabwe who has just released her EP.

Tchéga

Get ready to groove because the colourful award-winning band Tchega are set to whisk you away to the Indian Ocean islands with their sunny, sassy and soulful Creole music. Hailing from Reunion Island and Madagascar, singer-songwriter Carole Katz crafts songs that call upon the tropical sounds she grew up with. Think vibrant beats and catchy melodies for some feel-good island music!

De Cuba Son Octet

The electrifying Afro-Cuban 8-piece band is bringing the heat to Sun Fest with a spicy and rhythmic repertoire! Led by Arvis Mena and Jeremias Sosa, they’re the perfect way to round out your Saturday night! Expect some Latin, Cuban, Timba, Son Cubano, Boleros and Salsa!
