Three of the folk world’s foremost new female singer-songwriters kick off Sydney Festival with a night of sublime, homespun music.

Headliner Alela Diane makes her Australian debut for this exclusive show, bringing captivating songs of heartbreak and redemption to Sydney for one night only.

Accompanied only by the delicate sounds of her acoustic guitar, Diane fills the space with her rich, stirring voice, described by Pitchfork as “nimble and graceful like a jazz singer, sad and knowing like a blues crooner, but always restrained like a bedroom-pop auteur”. Diane’s latest album, About Farewell, is a gorgeous, stripped-down collection of cathartic break-up songs, that when performed live, lend the feeling of whispered secrets told around the campfire.
