This week we’re tipping our hats to some local legends and showing a little bit of ★ RESPECT ★ !!
With a culmination of more decades than your grandparents’ stories, we’ve gathered a small handful of gents who, in their own way, have helped pioneer Sydney’s house scene into what it is today.
We’ve brought in two lads, Matt and Dave under their Glitch Dj’s moniker, with second dj duo, of James and Gary as Monkey Tennis with two of Sydney’s greats, Toby Neal and ‘Papa’ James with our resident ‘Hoffy’ to bring in Sunday’s shindig.
This week, S*A*S*H plays host to:
★ Glitch Dj’s ★
The duo of long standing legends, Matt Aubusson and Dave Choe is the culmination of over a decade of dj’ing individually and since 2004 under their ‘Glitch’ moniker. Spawned from their monthly techno party, their extensive career in Sydney’s scene has had them playing music to over 10,000 people at Earthcore’s main stage, Field day, ‘We Love’ festival with international support list the length of a toilet paper roll.
★ Monkey Tennis ★
In 2002, two gentlemen who respond to the names of James Lumsden and Gary Broadbend threw a small party for their close friends called Monkey Tennis. Fast forward no less than 100 events later, this monkey business they took on became one of the longest running house nights in Sydney.
★ Toby Neal ★
Having been a DJ/Producer in Sydney since the late 90’s, Toby is best known for his funked up party house productions and remixes on labels the likes of “Hussle Recordings” (Ministry of Sound Australia) and Chicago’s “Spatula City”. From straight-up party bombs to the more chilled-out moody numbers, as long as it sounds heavy on the dancefloor, Toby dishes it out with the best of them.
★ James Taylor ★
James “Papa Bear” Taylor has well and truly established himself as a staple of Sydney’s house music by now. With more years playing than some of us have been alive, his two ears have taken him to every venue, event and support every artist worth their salt over the last 2 decades. Constantly serving out music to the masses several times a week across Sydney’s night spots and even more so via FBi radio residency, James is well and truly a local legend!
High Tea Set
Pull up a seat under the sprinklers and order yourself a $5 pizza while enjoying a $10 jug of beer or $15 jug of cider to one of Sydney’s standout acts from 2 till 4 in the afternoon
★ Jake Hough ★
Having well and truly outdone himself at our Emergency Warehouse Party, he’s come back in to what he does so well, play tunes. If you have for some reason been under a rock or spent your Sunday’s at swap meets, trade your crocheting needles in for entry and catch this dude.. you’ll have more fun, we grantee it!
