Taya Chani is a Sydney-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist. With a soothing voice, she effortlessly incorporates blues, soul, Americana, jazz, funk and R’N’B all within her performance.
Her debut album ‘Restless Heart’ features an incredible line up of Sydney-based musicians. Her showmanship and strength in dynamically leading a band shines through and her powerful yet silky vocals are the highlight of her show. Taya has performed at many festivals including Woodford, Australian Blues Festival, Marrickville blues festival, Sydney blues festival, Girrakool Blues Festival, Echuca, Goulburn and others.
Taya has spent some time in the Deep South of America and has performed in New Orleans, Clarksdale, Mississippi and Memphis. Taya returns to her native Australia with a stronger goal, greater drive and overflowing with inspiration to write and create authentic music. Taya has shared stages with many of Australia’s top Blues and Roots artists and musicians including; Ian Moss, Simon Kinny Lewis, 8 Ball Aitken, Ray Beadle, Clayton Dolley, Mitch Anderson, Ross ward, Adam Pringle, Rob Susz, Jesse Redwing, Shane Pacey, Sally King, Pat Powell and many more.
