The Manic are a new, innovative Alternative Rock band of six hailing primarily from all over Western Australia. With members of various nationalities, ethnicities, genders, and sexualities, The Manic are a breath of fresh air. They use their differences to bring a perspective that can resonate with a wide range of listeners. The Manic present their debut single Rust, which centres around swelling synthesisers and violins that will sweep you off your feet, eliciting a feeling of longing for something slipping through your fingers, not unlike the song “Never Tear Us Apart” by INXS. The lyrics themselves are passionately delivered via soaring vocals, shedding light upon the writer's struggle in conceptualising the human condition and the process of aging, like many tracks by The Cure. Add an energetic and driving rhythm section that keeps the crowd moving, with a ' The Pretenders style' Guitar piece and you have the sound of 'The Manic' debut single, Rust. The Manic have entered the scene with a loud voice, a strong vision, and they are unafraid of being heard.
