You might not have heard of this trio before however to understand the significance of this combination, you need understand what each musician has accomplished:


Rebekka Neville:
Rebekka is an accomplished and highly regarded jazz singer whose repertoire ranges from jazz standards to Latin and contemporary songs. Rebekka has performed at over 300 major corporate and private events locally and overseas with her jazz duos, trios and quartets. Rebekka has performed with many of Australia's notable musicians including George Washingmachine, James Valentine, Tim Bruer, Rodric White, Monique Lysiak, Errol Buddle, Paul Cutlan, Steve Arie’, Andrew Dickeson, Craig Scott, Steve Elphick, Toby Hall, Ed Gaston, Paul Mitchell Brown, Guy Strazz and Dave Smith.


Tim Bruer:
Tim is a Sydney based pianist and composer. He performs regularly around the Sydney area with various bands and as a solo pianist. He also teaches piano and a number of other subjects at The Australian Institute of Music. Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Tim has performed with many of Australia’s finest musicians including James Morrison, Dale Barlow Jackie Orzarsky, Carl Orr, Steve Hunter, and Elana Stone. He holds both a Bachelor of Music and a Masters of Music degree in jazz performance, and has studied extensively with Mike Nock. Tim has also been featured on recordings by artists such as Max Sharam, Guy LeClaire and Kate Swadling, as well as the bands The Acca Daiquiris and Hammerhead. In 2007 he released his first CD under his own name,“The Tim Bruer Quartet”. This found him collaborating with some of Sydney’s best players on a program of his original compositions, and reflects his many years of playing contemporary jazz.



Brett Hirst:

New Zealand born Brett Hirst holds a Diploma of Jazz Studies from the Christchurch School of Jazz in New Zealand, and a Masters of Music (Performance) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Australia. Residing in Sydney since 1998, Brett maintains a busy performance and recording schedule with some of Australia’s premiere musicians, as well as international jazz and contemporary artists. His performance and recording credits include: Mike Nock, Mark Isaacs, Sandy Evans, Phil Slater, Matt McMahon, James Muller, James Morrison, Lior, Katie Noonan, Vince Jones, James Greening, Mara, Josh White Jr., Wendy Matthews, Sharon Shannon, Damien Leith, Mary Coughlan, Dominique Fillon, Greg Osby, Ricky Ford, Sheila Jordan, Sean Wayland and many more.
