Sprawling with obtuse basslines, acute digital peaks and asymmetrical drum machine, Vegyn’s music doesn’t walk a straight line so much as trip over itself beautifully.

The London-born producer, artist, DJ and label head returns to Australia and New Zealand this October for a rare run of headline shows, supported by NYC producer and amr*.

Across everything he touches, from surreal club sets to production work for Travis Scott, JPEGMafia and Frank Ocean, Joseph Thornalley makes music that’s hard to pin down and harder to forget.

His productions are jagged and abstract, built from negative space, ambient haze and rhythms that never resolve. There’s hip-hop in the DNA, but it never plays by the rules, always veering towards something stranger, softer, rawer.

Through his label PLZ Make It Ruins, Vegyn has built an entire world. His 2019 debut Only Diamonds Cut Diamonds felt like a manifesto; the 71-track Text While Driving If You Want To Meet God! followed as a chaotic, genre-agnostic statement of intent.

Since then, he’s ventured further leftfield, releasing The Head Hurts but the Heart Knows the Truth under the alias Headache, followed by the 2024 masterpiece The Road to Hell Is Paved with Good Intention, and then the unexpected arrival of Blue Moon Safari - an output that feels like it was made more for himself than for any audience. Dreamlike, disjointed and deeply personal.

As a DJ, Vegyn shifts between industrial breaks, ambient drift and warped club memories. This October, he returns to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Wellington and Auckland - a rare chance to slip through the cracks and step inside his world.
