Join Chris Benato at the Rosemount Hotel for his WAAPA graduation recital. The band and Chris will be playing a few of his favourite tunes from some of the artists that he’s been inspired by over the past four years. As well as showcasing some original work of his own and with collaborators Luke Giglia-Smith and Zac Wise.
Josiah Hunter
Join Josiah in his graduation drum performance, at the Rosemount Hotel, for a showcase of his musical journey thus far. As a sporty kid in his younger years, Josiah began drumming in his teenage years, and grew his experience through playing in church. He then decided to pursue studying music, after being inspired by learning from WAAPA alumni. His influences range from gospel to Electronic Dance Music, and Brazilian to Progressive Metal. This night will be a sliver of these influences, highlighting Josiah's skills and his band. Though Josiah’s WAAPA journey has sadly come to an end, this is an amazing opportunity to share in the beginning of a lifetime of musical experiences.
Torika Forrester
Join Torika Forrester at the Rosemount Hotel for her WAAPA Bachelors Recital as she showcases her powerful voice through songs of multiple styles of music. From her time and dedication in WAAPA as a singer, she has developed her unique sound, influenced by artists of various genres, ranging from Aretha Franklin, Chakra Khan, Whitney Houston, Kimbra, FATAI, and PINK.
As a Torres Strait Islander, music has always been an inspiration throughout her life. This performance will be filled with soulful pieces, classic ballads, and Torika’s version of a well-known chart topper. she will show that one voice can bring the change to the future.
