SESSION 1 - BLAKE WELLER - DOORS OPEN AT 5:30PM

BLAKE WELLER PERFORMANCE - 6PM

Blake is an electric bass player who strives to showcase his unique musicality through the instrument he picked up thanks to ‘Scott Pilgrim vs the World’. Influenced and inspired by artists such as Derrick Hodge, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, and Pino Palladino, Blake hopes to present the bass as a dynamic and melodic instrument through a culmination of original works and creative arrangements, highlighting the role bass can play in several ensemble settings. Blake is very excited to show everyone exactly what he has been working on for the last four years and cannot wait to perform with a band made up of some of Perth’s most exciting emerging music talents.

SESSION 2 - MELISSA CROTTY - DOORS OPEN AT 6:50PM

MELISSA CROTTY PERFORMANCE - 7:10PM

Melissa Crotty started her singing journey at the age of 3. Since then, Melissa has performed around the community and throughout Perth, before and during her four years at WAAPA. Her major influences include the likes of Adele, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Jessie J and YEBBA to name a few. Melissa is well versed in a range of fields having studied Theatre and Literature and Secondary Education prior to her Honours degree at WAAPA. Her voice is thus versatile, having trained in Theatre as well as Contemporary Music. Tonight, Melissa along with her ensemble will perform an eclectic repertoire consisting of RnB, Pop, Neo-Soul and Jazz tunes as well as some of her originals to showcase her distinguished talents.

SESSION 3 - MADOC PLANE - DOORS OPEN AT 8:00PM

MADOC PLANE PERFORMANCE - 8:20PM

Madoc Plane is a talented and emerging vocalist coming out of the Perth music scene. His vocal style takes influence from contemporary artists such as Matt Corby, Jordan Rakei, Jeff Buckley and Allen Stone. Madoc’s interest in Contemporary Soul has also inspired his song writing and arranging approach, as can be heard throughout his set. Madoc will be taking the stage with some of Perth’s strongest musical talents to present a powerful set of music demonstrating his own unique style.

SESSION 4 - MIKAYLA BOONSTRA - DOORS OPEN AT 9:10PM

MIKAYLA BOONSTRA PERFORMANCE - 9:30PM

Mikayla Boonstra is a vibrant up-and-coming vocalist coming to the end of her fourth year Honours degree in Contemporary Music at the Western Academy of Performing Arts. Her vocal style is heavily grounded in R&B, Soul and Gospel and is further influenced by the likes of Beyoncé, Kierra Sheard, Shayna Steele, and Jazmine Sullivan. Known for her undeniable passion and soaring vocals, her creative passions also lie with raw and heartfelt song writing which will be heard throughout the set. Backed by an incredible line up of musicians, Mikayla cannot wait to share her fierce arrangements and sassy energy as she does what she loves most. This is not a show you want to miss!
