Brandon Riganello - 6:00pm

With his final WAAPA performance, Brandon Riganello presents his Honours Graduation Recital. Learning the electric guitar at a young age, Brandon was exposed to Grunge, Heavy Metal and Blues that ignited his passion for music. His time at WAAPA has introduced him to the genres of Fusion, Funk, Prog and Jazz, which has broadened his capabilities as an adaptable guitarist. Inspired by the expressive soloing of Jeff Beck and the tight rhythm guitar work of Steve Lukather, Brandon presents a versatile set of majority original music, ranging from Blues Organ Trio to modern Progressive Rock. Brandon will also showcase covers and arrangements from more of his guitar heroes including Mark Lettieri, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Julian Lage. As the first performance in this year's recital season, Brandon's set will be a high energy experience with a beating heart at its centre.

Malachy Maguire - 7:10pm
Taking inspiration from the sounds of modern drummers like Justin Tyson, Nate Smith and Thomas Pridgen, Malachy Maguire present’s his graduation recital. A performance fuelled by the rhythms of hip-hop, fusion and RnB, Malachy takes the audience on a sonic journey through his inspirations and carefully crafted sound.

Gene Holliday-Ryder - 8:20pm
A Stroke of Gene-ius; A journey through WAAPA from a Queer Lense. 
Follow the journey of Gene Holliday-Ryder’s four year journey through WAAPA, from their first steps into WA to embracing their identity and finding their voice. Fusing Genres of Jazz, Pop, Rock and Metal, Gene’s fun and radical energy will radiate on the stage. Featuring influences from David Bowie, Dorian Electra and Talking Heads, expect to laugh, scream and cry from the whiplash of emotions this ride will take you on. A culmination of their Honours research, expect a taste of the unexpected, and experience this stroke of genius come to life.

Ruby Delgado - 9:30pm
Singer songwriter, Ruby Delgado, curates an immersive musical performance in her honours graduation recital, Return to the Heart. Her passion and connection to her Uruguayan culture has evolved her artistry to celebrate the rhythms and sounds of world music in a contemporary music context. A natural performer, Ruby embraces the heart of storytelling through textural vocal expression, earthy grooves, and dynamic compositions, that emote and move audiences. Her honours research and music writing explore how music can affect the physical body, and through joint experience, connect us to our community. This unique body of work offers a personal perspective of what it means to love and belong, when your heart rests in so many places.
