The Blue Mountains Music Festival happens just across the road from Hotel Blue every March. We're not actually part of the festival but as we are full of music lovers here to see some of the best music of the year, we couldn't resist putting on some acts ourselves.
We kick off a day early - catch Jim Jarvis and Alan Meadows playing at Hotel Blue the day before they play at the festival. Jim Jarvis is a folk and blues legend - every Blues artist is Australia knows his 'Outskirts of Town' album from 1977, and the ever covered song 'Brownsville'. Jim recently visited Tasmania and played with long time friend and former bandmate, Alan Meadows. They always have a ball together so Jim, now a Blue Mountains local, invited Alan up to the Mountains to play at The Blue Mountain Music Festival . . . and Hotel Blue, Jim's local blues joint! So if you're excited about the Music Festival and want a night of intimate Blues, join Jim and Alan for Thursday Night Blues, March 17th, 6:30-8:30pm. Bar & kitchen open, free event!
