A boy fled Iraq in the arms of his mother when he was just two years old. Once in his adopted homeland New Zealand, Zaidoon Nasir soon found comfort in a friend. Their shared love for hip-hop resulted in an internationally performing duo with big plans for the future, until his partner, citing new-found religious belief, abruptly moved overseas - leaving his closest friend with no goodbye. After some grueling months, experimental hip-hop artist WHO SHOT SCOTT was born from the ashes of that personal and professional apocalypse.
Fast forward 2 years and international media celebrate WHO SHOT SCOTT’s “filthy and frantic experimental sound” and “fearless expression”. Rolling Stone Magazine Australia has named him as a “NZ artist tipped to take over.”
‘LONERS ANTHEM’ reigned at #1 on the NZ College Radio charts and won the Top 10 award for the most voted-for song of 2022. His music has been playlisted by MTV, Spotify editorials, synced by TV networks and been played on radio stations around the world. They all excitedly anticipate the release of his third EP ‘MERCY III’ on February 17.
After bringing his explosive live performance to NZ’s most prestigious festivals, WHO SHOT SCOTT will embark on his first international tour, playing Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in April 2023.
