Who The Folk Lohr | Summer of Love Tour | A Night of Bring People Together with Motion-Poetry
I grew up in the mysterious land of Michigan where I started writing fiction at the age of 7. I moved to Bozeman, MT at the age of 19 and turned my writing style into a folky, trip-hop sort of performance. As I grew up and moved out to California in 2013, for inspiration, I began writing and performing for campfires as Folklohr. When I finally moved to North Carolina, I realized my vision wouldn't be complete without my own knowledge of beat making. So at the age of 23, I started to create my own beats on a beat pad, paired with my keyboard and I started to play my first gigs.
Now I'm in the musical playground of Wilmington, NC, really learning the arts of producing crisp sounds with a layer of soulful vocals ripe with message and meaning. Always adding live instrumentals, mostly being my keyboard and xylophone, but also a collaborative effort for many shows. I now create my music in Ableton and am diversifying with new musicians and new projects. I have now co-founded a venue called Portal City in Wilmington, NC and co-manage our events with the amazing support of our music and arts community.
Like any good artist I'm taking time to appreciate what I love about art and music and putting my own spin on it. All the while I want to leave you with a smile on your face and the message in your heart to be YOU! And inspire fearlessly. So that when you leave the show you can just keep on dancing.
