J Major Sounds started 9 years ago by Arthur 'Bolo' Peters a member of the National Steel Symphony Orchestra for 20 years as a way to bring more live music avenue to the east of Trinidad with a series call Sunday Night Jam. The group is quite diverse as it has members from the sister isle Tobago and features a harmonica player and a Keyboardist that play both Keys and Bass. The style of music the group play are Calypso, Soca, Popular, Reggae and Contemporary Jazz. The core of the group is a Trio and often increase in size to 5 or 6 members according to the occasion. Some of the group performances are Mama this is Jazz 2, Tobago Jazz Experience, UWI Alumni Annual Wine and Cheese, Petrotrin Art Exhibition, Fiesta Plaza and the Launch of the Digital Pan App. The group also perform at weddings, birthday party, Thanks giving and Pan Celebration.
