Joan Banoit is the solo project of Sydney based multi-instumentalist and ex-choir boy Julian Bright. Informed as much by the innovative electronica of Jlin, Arca, Burial and Autechre as he is classic synth pop, art rock and contemporary composition, this project blurs the divide between various electronic sub-genres.

Joan's vocal arrangements are built around entwined ambient FM synth layers and driven by complex drum arrangements. Horn sections and acoustic drum performances add organic tones to the tracks. Live shows are heavily focused on performance and give a second dimension to the recordings.
