Jon Nadel has been the sole bassist of Marbin since 2015. The Israeli inspired Jazz Fusion band brings performances and improvisation masterclasses to every corner of the United States and abroad. Nadel has recorded on 2 live albums and 5 studio albums, including "Fernweh"; a departure from Fusion that showcased the group's mastery of Jazz Manouche.
When not on the road, Nadel leads his own modern trio that features the bass guitar as a lead instrument. His music explores the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic capabilities of the bass with a focus on classical technique and improvisation. His debut solo album "Urraca" was released in 2019.
Nadel received his degree in Jazz Studies from Jacobs School of Music (Indiana University, Bloomington) where he studied with the late, great David Baker. He then took up residency with the Seth Burkhart 4 on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas. Nadel has since maintained residences at Italian Kitchen in Deerfield and the Edgewater Beach Cafe with the Jim Jacobs Trio. He now brings his talents to Adorn Bar & Restaurant (Four Seasons, Chicago) for Sunday brunch, social hour, and special holiday performances.
