Joy Polloi is an acoustic-electric Rock/Americana style band whose music is spiked with NOLA beats, reggae rhythms and gypsy grooves to get you moving and smiling. The band name derives from the phrase "hoi polloi," which is Greek for "the masses", and 'music for the masses' is how we describe our broadly appealing, genre-evasive sound. Our harmony-driven music is upbeat and danceable, with positive lyrics and joyful energy delivered by seasoned musicians with decades of collective experience performing professionally at numerous venues throughout the Central Coast. These five humans and 12 instruments inhabit a unique sonic envelope with compelling lead vocals, complex harmonies and unexpected instrumentation, creatively applied to well-crafted songs.
