Juay Kennedy’s story is not just one of music — it’s one of resilience, transformation, and an unrelenting pursuit of passion. Raised in Sydney, he was never one to blend in. From an early age, he was drawn to house music, captivated by the sounds of Ray Parker Jr., Prince, George Michael, and Sandy Rivera. But his individuality set him apart in ways that weren’t always easy. Bullied and isolated, he found solace in music—a world that understood him when others didn’t.
At 14, fate intervened in an extraordinary way. A poem he had written and shared on Instagram caught the attention of house music legend Sandy Rivera. What followed was a whirlwind—Juay soon found himself by Sandy’s side at Sydney’s Ivy, playing on radio shows, and, before he had even turned 16, warming up for his idol at O Beach Ibiza and Barbarella’s.
At 17, he moved to Los Angeles for modelling, living with Sandy’s family. He was on the cusp of turning 18, ready to step into the club scene legally, when the world came to a standstill. COVID forced him back to Sydney, and with it came the unravelling of everything he had built—his gigs, his music, his financial stability. Struggling with family tensions and personal demons, he left home with nothing but $12 in his pocket.
Now, in 2025, Juay returns to Ibiza — not just as a DJ, but as an artist shaped by every triumph and every fall. His journey is more than music; it is a testament to survival, self-discovery, and the power of unwavering determination.
